Wild Young Hearts

On a scale of 1-10.. this weekend was most definitely a 178303 plus. 

This is why: Ivy and Nicholas came to visit me at my good ol college :) 

FRIDAY: Freaking date night. 

KENYON ANDERSON (My date) Did not disappoint. At all. We had a lovely dinner at Sweet Basil. It was cool because we sat across from Ivy and Joe. We laughed and talked and stuff. Then Kenyon ate ALL of the dinner that we SHARED. Kidding. 

T told the waiter that it was Debra's birthday. It wasn't. Free yummy stuff for us. Ivy and her date had so much in common. Neither of them have ever consumed Coca-Cola before. Eventually.. i'm just going to tie Ivy to a chair and shove it down her throat. I know she'll like it. 

Then we went to WAL MART. We played this one game. You and your date have to run around the store and pick 10 items. Then you and another couple switch carts and return all of the items in the correct place. Kenyon and I were really curious as to why we lost... and why it took us so long to find all of the items. The simple answer was this: Everyone else cheated. Woops. Afterwards, we watched NEWSIES in the loft. (The loft is where your date either puts out or goes home.) 

(But I didn't... ) 

I was surprised when my friend Nick knew every single world to Newsies. He sure can dance like a newsboy! Dennys followed. Ken and I had a water drinking contest. It doesn't sound dangerous at all, but it was. Overall.. Ken was a pretty swell date. I had a lovely time.

SATURDAY: Trip to St. Geezy was in action. Oh.. but first we slept all day and spent a good 2 hours at the dining hall. We visited Madison and Sarah at their cute little apartment! Followed by frozen yogurt. We also got to see Rakul. AND had a semi dance party in the parking lot. The drive back was the best though. I swear I could drive around for hours and just listen to music really loudly. I also liked being in the company of great friends :) 

Afterwards, I stayed up all freaking night until it was time to go to church. I had such a wonderful conversation with Pearl and Nick. Religion, marriage, babies, dolphins, animal planet and Romance. All of these topics were covered! We even ate ramen noodles out of cups. Yippy :) My precious Ivy was still sleeping! We also watched SUPERSTAR. And hilarious, disgusting cat vids.

^ HAPPY SABBATH! 

I attended LDS church with my friends. It was just lovely! I enjoyed singing with Ivy. It took me right back to those days in choir. I'd be holding my music upside down.. not paying attention.. flirting with the nerdy boys behind me... and she'd just put me right in my place! I fell asleep to 500 Days of Summer. (After another 12 plus hours at the dining hall) Then Ivy, Pearl and I walked to Maverick and got CANDY. Woooo. 

We talked and stuff. Girl time was needed. We watched a perfect spanish film called THE ORPHANAGE. It was wicked scary! And touching. I loved it all too much. We then played PIG MANIA <-- (Use your imagination) 

I had another wonderful conversation with Kenyon. (Not a surprise) Then we started laughing about way dumb things. (Mega Meow Moment...) <-- hmm.

Leaving the dining hall.. I got REALLY tired. I mean.. CRAZY TIRED.

MONDAY: Napped. What up. Went to Discovery Park. Visited with Blaine, Brian and Brandon! I absolutely love Cedar Hall North. FIRST FLOOR BABY. Tigers are fun to hug. I talked to T and Debra. I love them all too much. I ALREADY MISS NICK AND IVY. 

Major highlight of my weekend: Skype with the Sissys! And Lucy :D oh.. and Mamma and Papa were there too.. ;)

Also.. Megan and Camille get more beautiful every time I see them. Lucky dogs.

I'm Just All Nerves

Oh hey guys! Kate here!  

I don't know if you heard about this.. but Valentines Day is rapidly approaching. 

First of all.. let me just say that I really dislike how everyone always says.. "OMG VALENTINES DAY IS SO DUMB. YOU SHOULD ALWAYS BE SHOWING YOUR LOVE FOR SOMEONE. NOT JUST ON ONE DAY. IT'S SO CLICHE AND TACKY.. EWWW.." 

Well go ahead and hate on me haters. Valentines day is easily one of my favorite holidays. Riddle me this though.. I've only ever had one Valentine in my life. Why do I love Valentines Day so much? Love. It's that simple. Love doesn't have be shown to just your significant other. Mamma Hunter always gave me a present on Valentines Day. I'd like to look at more as a celebration of love. Love is all around us. If you ask me, there are many different kinds of love. Why can't we just simply celebrate them all? And p.s. What is really so wrong about taking somebody out on Valentines Day? NOTHING. I will be dateless this Valentines Day. I'm completely okay with that. I'm still extremely excited to witness all the love and happiness that will circulate. I actually did get a Valentine present for someone. I tried to get all personal without getting personal. You know.. getting him things that he likes that i've noticed. Not like.. way cool things though. I'm probably not going to give it to him though. To be honest.. I don't think that he'll like it. Or understand it. Or think it's funny. Help me find some courage? Hey.. I never said this whole Valentine thing was easy. OH YOUNG LOVERS OF THE WORLD. Enjoy this day. Or just anybody :)

Did I mention we look alike AND she just understands me in many aspects? Oh Krystle. I sure do love you!  

Yes, I auditioned for professional theatre. Pretty ballsy of me if I do say so myself. Let me just let you in on a little secret: I've never been so terrified in my entire life. I was too happy to have Krystle, Moses, Madison, Campbell and Garett there for support. I was comforted when a beautiful boy from Maine (James Martin) text me and told me to break a leg. His small message was extremely comforting. I pretty much gave it my all. I am expecting no callback. But hey. Why not reach for the stars? :) 

Campbell really impressed me. He is such a talented dancer. He got a callback for DOODY. <-- Supporting role in Grease. 

I wish he understood that it's kind of a big deal! After auditions, we met up with Kyle and went to Dennys. St. Geezy style. That's always wicked fun :) 

Garett and I came back to Cedar that night. We had a lovely talk, and ended up rolling into Juni around 1:00 am. We did some fun, adventurous activities with the roomies. Oh wait. Then something terrible happened. 

WE ALMOST DIED. 

Rakul started driving up the canyon to "The C" (makeout spot of Cedar) 

Carly, Pearl, Garett, Rakul and I were all in the car. 

When we almost got to the top, we got stuck in the snow. Woops. There was only a cliff leading to our death about 2 yards (or feet) to the right of us. I got extremely scared. Luckily... Pearl got out of the car with me as Garett backed the car down the mountain. I was extremely terrified. Pearl and I felt unsafe in the car, so we ran down the hill in front of it. She grabbed onto my arm so tightly. I only fell about 134895 times. But she was always there to pick me up :) 

I got 4 hours of sleep and then I woke up!

It was a beautiful day. It started off by me running all the way to the nearest LDS church in my high heels. My beautiful friend Debra was getting baptized. It was a very positive and happy part of my day. I even cried a little. Kenyon even talked. Debra's boyfriend was there also. It's obvious how much he cares about her. Love really is all around us :) I was incredibly happy to be there for her. Time spent with T, Deb and Kenyon will definitely always be one of the best parts of my college experience! 

The dining hall followed. Including lots of laughs and french toast.

Afterwards, I said goodbye to my hawt Indian roommate (hate to see her leave..) And my plans to go to Vegas were quickly ruined. It's okay though. Pearly and I went for a bike ride. Followed by Discovery Park with Carly. I actually loved having the sun hit my face. I just laid on a blanket and thought about life and some great individuals. Dining hall again with Pearl and Kenno. I'm pretty sure that I asked Kenyon to get me a cheese quesadilla and fries. Guess what he came back with? Not that. It was a hot dog with no bun and some lucky charms next to it. Sick. But so funny. Then I almost got in another fight with EMANUEL WILLIAMS (Manny) 

Then I went to a lovely play with Kenyon. It was a fantastic piece of theatre. The acting was so perfect. I GET SO JAZZED BY TALENT. I then went to Wal Mart and saw a freaking great looking RA. I also made a fool of myself whilst trying to pay for my chips and dip. (Yeah sick) I ate too much and then decided to mark my territory all over Juniper with Pearl. (Not peeing) James was too cute this evening. Sometimes I wish that the most hip boy i've ever had the pleasure of knowing didn't live on the complete opposite side of the country. It's fine :) Missing all my Ogden friends too much. HAPPY DAY. Pearl is currently snoring like a cute little baby.

Let me just say that i've been SUCH a girl lately. Let me also just say that i've realized how much I talk about myself. I wish I wouldn't do that. Ima go ahead and try to not be selfish in conversations.

We stayed up wicked late last night. We watched Arrested Development and talked and stuff. I think I like spending time with him because he really just gets my humor. He's a great friend. Today I studied whilst he played the guitar and sang. It was lovely :) He also took me on my first date here at SUU. Recently! 

^ Dolly Parton? 

Hmm. My friend Holly is such an amazing lighting designer. She did this. OH and my makeup/hair. She pretty much did everything except for take the photograph. She makes me feel like a pretty girl :) Thank you for using your talents on me Holly Wolly! I admire her ability to take polite control of a situation. If you were to define Holly Pierce... you would say she's a spunky individual that gets shit done!

I was introduced to him on skype. Thank you Pearl May White. (They are great friends) I find conversations with James to be extremely enjoyable. I often find myself smiling and laughing. I don't believe I've ever met a gent quite like him. I'll be seeing him in about four months. We have this not so list of things to do whilst I'm in Maine. Things like.. WRESTLING CHALLENGE. DANCE OFF. You know.. I can't wait to win at EVERYTHING ;) 

It's really probably a great thing that James doesn't read my blog. Haha. He just makes me happy often, so I thought you should know about him. When I skype with him.. I sometimes get really nervous and talk forever about dumb stories. Kbye.

 I went to bed at 7:00 pm this evening.. and woke up at midnight. I wish I wasn't such a champion. I posted a status about how I wanted to go on a adventure. The next thing I know, my two lovely neighbors are knocking on my door. We pretty much just talked about everything for a few hours. Whilst I stuffed my pathetic face with chips. It was such great girl time! Selene and Penni are such beautiful, smart women. They know wassssup :) 

Tonight.. My beautiful friend Emma Jane Phelps said.. "We're all horny and Jesus loves us." I love her. I like how she just understands everything that has happened in my life. Thanks Em! I look forward to a lady date with her. Spending time with Her and Corbin always brings sunshine and laughter into my day!

Gross. hahaa. These gals are too special. I wish I could tell you how much they mean to me.. but I can't. They know how special they are :) I love them for everything that they are. I would never once change a thing. I love it when we dress up like foreigners and travel to get authentic Mexican food. Especially when it's late at night. I also like it when Pearl perfectly cleans my room.

Perfect Human Beings. Perfect Weekend.

HEY EVERYONE. 

This weekend was simply idyllic. 

Let me just tell you why: 

Party time at THE RED HOUSE (Which isn't actually all that red) 

With Ike and Nicholas. ALSO..I was pleased to hit on Nick's ethnic roommate several times without him catching on. One day. 

I was surprised by Ivy Lynn Finlinson & Jessica Williams & New Boyfriend of hers.

We all sat in Nick's room and bonded. SUU, Snow College and UVU students UNITE! We all ended up telling fun stories about our college experiences.. whilst playing Mario Kart on N64 ANDD Eating loads of asian rice. It wass tooo fun.

Nick decided to drive Rakul's car back to Ogden... that's fine. It wasn't fine though when a cop pulled him over for going 276 MPH in a 25 MPH zone. The friendly police man went ahead and took some form of ID from ALL of us. Yes. Even me. I had to say "I don't have a drivers license.." I swear people just ask to make me feel really ridiculous. We got off with a warning. Yippy daggum dancer! <-- Nicholas Hilton Lingo. 

We arrived at Dennys only to see half of Bonneville High school.

My roommate met my friend Lane Harvey. He fell in love with her. So I went to the bathroom to tell her. hahaa. Allison Boyer and Caleb Marshall showed up. It was nice meshing friends. We all had a great time :) 

I decided to go ahead and wake up at noon the next day.. we had a delicious breakfast provided by PaPa Hunter.. followed by a trip to Frogurt to visit Daniel and THE LOLLAR FAMILY. Love them. 

We then decided to pay Scott a visit :) 

^ I always forget how freaking hilarious he is. 

His new house is amazing. 

We all caught up and relived the JUNI DAYS. 

We proceeded to Cafe Rio with DA BOYS 

CAMPBELLMOSES Dan and DeLaHANDSOME. 

Headed to my casa and all had a love sesh (clean) on mattresses in my living room.. (WITH LUCY) 

Dan is handsome. Moses always looks awesome. & Campbell has perfect hair.

After we all had good fun, they left and Lane Harvey came over because he loves my roommate. Pearl and I learned how to play Jar Of Hearts on GEETAR. Complete with chilling harmonies.

Allison came over.. then I skyped DelaHANDSOME. 

I always love skyping with him.. 

His mom and adorable sister are usually somewhere in the background.. his sweet mother is genuinely concerned about the letter that I wrote to Stephen King. Ope. Still no reply. So then I went to Dennys again. Woops. hahaa. I spent too much time laughing with everyone there. Megan & Camille came along. so that was just terrif! (terrific) 

I ended up getting about 1 hours of sleep until it was time to wake up for my posh coffee date with Jord. We went to Starbucks and the waitress somehow just knew that my name was spelt K-A-T-Y. Jord tipped her. AND ordered my drink. (Kit paid for coffee.. technically. He gave me ten bucks..) We sat there and talked about everything. It was so chill and peaceful. I realized that he notices just as many things about films that I notice about plays/musicals. We have a passion for it :) It's nice to have that in common with someone. After a few hours of talking and coffee, we went back to my house to pick up Pearla. We arrived at Nick's church a tad bit late. His lovely sister gave a wonderful talk. It was a nice atmosphere to be around.. and I liked seeing how involved and passionate Pearl was about her religion. I tried to sing a hymn and halfway failed. haha. I hugged Jord goodbye. Pearl, Rakul and I headed back home to Cedar. I didn't want to leave Ogden at all :( It was perfect and happy. I am so blessed to know AWESOME people.

But first... I fell asleep on the floor for a way long time. 

Do you ever have those days.. when you just wake up pissed/depressed? I was so sad. Maybe because when I fell asleep, the glorious sun was hitting my face. I was so warm and content to sleep. Waking up to dark windows.. and being freezing.. maybe that had something to do with it? It made me excited for summer: The sun being up until 10:30 at night... taking a trip to Maine.. visiting Fransisco Lopez in Minnesota. Whilst making cupcakes.. I text him and told him this very important thing: I want to marry a boy just like him. Why? Because.. we can have TOO much fun. Laughing.. playing.. talking.. eating.. ahhhaa. Honestly.. what is up with those couples that just sit around... watch movies... hold hands.. and end up making out? I've had too many of those pointless relationships. It's time to wake up. To live. To be with someone who brings out the best in you. <-- Not that I am in any hurry for this person to show up.

Before the dance: We're obviously all sick and sexy fied. YES. Oh but guess what? We were the first ones there.. Woops! Did that stop us from having our fun? YOU BET IT DIDN'T. Corbin and I hit the dance floor like sick animals.

As the dance went on.. more people showed up. I always tried to get into the middle of the big crowd.. and jump up and dance.. but my little self just couldn't do it. Corb was there to pull me right out :) I saw some Dixie friends there.. it was a good time! Creepy old guy kept dancing near our group. hahaha.

It is sooo completely accurate.. 

Why? We can all relate. Every dude wants to punch his Summer in the face.. and turn around to see his Autumn. AMIRITE? 

This part always gets me: Summer and Tom are watching a film at the theatre... Summer's eyes start to fill with tears as she watches two characters in the movie that have just been married. 

THAT MOMENT. 

Is so honest. Such great acting.

Somehow.. I just KNEW it. 

His kindness, understanding.. and love.. will help him so much on this journey he is about to make. I KNOW how much he wants to go. I honestly could not be happier for him. He holds so many precious memories in my heart. He gave me the summer of my life! Our friendship will stay consistent.. although we are worlds apart! The moment he called me and told me he was going to Germany... tears filled my eyes :) Great things will come from this experience he is about to have. I just want to wish him luck.. and thank him for all of the good times. They will continue when he arrives home! I cannot wait to write him letters and things. Nicholas has never once judged me.. he always listens and loves me just the same. THANK YOU NICK. For being yourself. Honestly. You will do great!

Ahahah. The roommates shared confessions with me the other night. I absolutely love talking things out. I feel a million times closer to them. Pearla and I sat in the lobby.. with no pants. ahah. We talked forever. I think i'll be making a trip to Maine this summer. Her and Rakul are extremely special to me!

Let me just tell you a little something about our evening...

Three cops walk into a St. George Dennys. 

Time: 5:00 am

Cop 1: Hey girls! Enjoying your morning breakfast? 

Me: We actually haven't slept yet! We're from Cedar! 

Cop 2: Oh. I see. Just enjoying the metropolitan area? 

Me: Actually.. my roommate lives here. But she's in the bathroom.. 

Cop 2: Oh okay (Charming smile follows)

Me: So did you guys just wake up? 

(No response from any cop..) 

(Approximately 6 Seconds pass) 

Cop 3: (Because he feels sorry for me..) No... Does it look like it? 

^ Then all the cops walked away. Katy and Pearl were left laughing hysterically.

Roommate came out of bathroom. So we had to tell her. Then we left :) This probably isn't very funny. But it's EXTREMELY early. And I have had no sleep. 

TODAY WAS PEARLA'S BIRTHDAY. 

We had a celebration in the loft.. including cake.. dancing.. and this movie..

The Tommyknockers.

But wow. This is a Stephen King film. He is brilliant. Of course. The acting however... hmmm. And the fact that it was about three and a half hours long.. yeah. That's NOT okay. Especially when you have to flip the disk over to get to PART II

Lets just say.. we had more fun poking fun at this film. 

"You can't run.

You can only become.. one of them." 

^ Lets all make it a goal to not get turned into human-alien-freak-genuises that have ugly hair and pretend to be scared when we're not. 

^ First. Pearla opened her present. Errr card. (We don't have money... we're in college...) 

She really liked it! This is her reading all of our heartfelt messages. Notice the orb in front of Kellie's face.. (Obviously a Tommyknocker..) 

We then had cake. YUMMM. Rakul and I fed it to the Birthday girl! (Indian Tradish) And then we began to watch the film. Afterwards, we had an INTENSE Dance party. Full of booootayyy shakin' lessons. Taught by RICO HERNANDEZ.

 It was cold. GRR. Random trips to ST. GEEZY R SOOO FUN.

Obviously... Mario has made the Journey to Bowser's castle at this point. I mean.. look at my face. Could I be more excited? 

On the way home.. we talked about how amazing this boy is. I have never known someone so beautiful inside and out. I miss you so much Franny Boy. I have never known somebody like you. Your SUU buddies think of you everyday. 

BUENOS NOCHES: I hope Pearla Mah Gurla had a fantastic birthday. Life is just toooo sweet to me :)
