Screw Sleep.

Recently I have come to the conclusion, that every time I open my Comm 1010 book the snooze fest begins.  Seriously! I don't even remember falling asleep... I was sitting on my bed.. reading and highlighting.  I woke up an hour later under the covers.. curled up in a ball... drooling all over my book with my glasses next to my pillow! I seriously do not even remember that happening.  My attention span seriously astounds me.  Today I made a new friend, and listened to a somewhat interesting conversation in my Comm class.  It was do's and don'ts of job interviews.  I have to say, it was quite helpful.  I also did some work for University Housing today!  I had a Community Attache meeting and found out that my friend Kenyon made VP of Programming for RHA. I'm seriously super proud of him.  Later in the evening... I started getting extremely sad.  My mom called me today and I just miss my family so much.  I am so lucky I had the opportunity to move away.  I am appreciating my family more and more every day we are apart.  I really miss my dog, Lucy.  It is so interesting how animals have such a big effect on our lives.  I would do anything for my Lucy Bell, and I miss her so much.  I seriously needed to vent, so I went up to Kenyon's room and he made me feel loads better!  I really enjoy having conversation with him.  Pearl May White always understands me and she knows what I am thinking.  I am so grateful to have her in my life! Did I mention how much I appreciate my roommate? She is one of the strongest people I know. Today, I heard from Samantha and Dan.  They both called me, and it made me so happy :)  Fran, Shane, Rakul, Scott and I went to Maverick and we got Mike Ikes.  (That's what Rakul calls them) Followed by laughing and fantastic conversation that is still going on in my room right now :) I'm a super lucky girl :D my friends build me up in positive ways EVERY day <3

One Night I Will Always Remember!

Okay, I woke up this morning feeling angry and upset.  I went to Theatre class and almost threw up.  I seriously was just not in the mood!  After class, Rakul and her beautiful family took us out for dinner. It was her birthday today!  We had delicious food.  Her family brought a cake!  They have an Indian tradition that when you put the candles in the cake, you leave one of them burning.. to symbolize the year that is coming ahead.  Afterwords, another great tradition took place!  Each member of Rakul's family fed her a piece of cake, and then she fed them cake! Then, she fed her roommates cake! (Pearl and I) It was super great.  I then watched a disturbing yet awkwardly enjoyable episode of Glee in the Getaway.  For Rakul's birthday, we went to Applebee's! Followed by taking a trip to THE C! A beautiful place right above all of Cedar. You seriously can see everything! It is so beautiful.  We ended up staying there for about three hours.  We went around in a circle and each said something that we like about each other.  It is funny how often we don't realize how great we really are.  Seriously, think about it.  When the people you care about are saying fantastic things about you, there is seriously no better feeling.  You feel like you can fly or that you're walking on sunshine or something.  You feel SO great about yourself.  As my friend Kenyon always says, we are our own worst critics.  Positive vibes can make friendships so much stronger.  So many positive things were said about me tonight , that I never even knew people noticed about me.  I am SO lucky for everything! I noticed that I loved saying things about others too.  It is almost an even better feeling to know that you were the one to make someone realize how great they are.  ILOVEMYLIFE. It is moments like these that make me realize I don't need money, boys, technology or any of that stuff to make me happy.  All I need in my life is people that care about me.  I am SO lucky to have that. Like the Beatles said.. ALL YOU NEED IS LOVE.

Awkward.

Hmmm.. College gets more interesting day by day.  I'd have to say, Pop Tarts have become quite the life saver.  Currently.. I am listening to "Anthems For A Seventeen Year-old Girl" From SCOTT PILGRIM VS THE WORLD. Probably one of my new favorite films. Anyway, last night I partook in attempting to watch an Indian film in my room with 7 people.  I think the problem was that there were 7 people. You know? Basically, we were all laughing way too hard to pay attention.  We then took a trip to Wally World! (aka Cedar City Wal-Mart) We played that one game.. I can't say the word... you know... (just incase mom is reading) It's the game that they play in the non-love story.. "500 Days Of Summer" They are in the park.. and shouting a certain male body part as loud as they can. So... we were playing that game.. when you shout that awkward body part as loud as you can. Call us immature... Because we are :/ The Wal-Mart employees told us to settle down. They totally had the right to. We were just bringing some excitement to Wal-Mart! Scott and Fran (Francisco) bought some Poke'mon cards. Cool, right? I thought so. You could say I started doing pirouettes in the check out line of Wal-Mart. We came back to Juniper and had a good ol' chat like we usually do.  When I woke up this morning, I felt terrible.  I went to diversity and sat next to Scott.  Afterwords, I accidentally washed my blackberry in the washer. NBD (no big deal) So then I got all mad and started pouting. ZUMBA (a latin dance workout) cheered me right up! I even saw a few gentlemen there. Zumba was followed by a shower duet with PEARL MAY WHITE! Singing harmony in the shower is such an exhilarating feeling!  Afterwords, I attended dinner in the dining hall.  Sitting by Jordan Pils is always a pleasure.  I went to Dennys with Shane afterwords. Dennys is always the place to be if you want people to look at you harshly and have a stomach ache after your meal.  I had a semi-study party with Pearl, Kellie and Rakul tonight. I also watched Rico, Scott and Fran obsess over Poke'mon. That's always adorable.  As the night ended.... Pearl, Rakul, Kellie and I were surrounded by a heated Pop Tart on my bed. Ohhh college <3

Singletones

Currently, I am listening to "Ottoman" by Vampire Weekend. Pandora is a fabulous thing. Basically, this weekend was fun in it's own interesting way.  Friday, I met a girl from Wisconsin in my Diversity class.  She had one classy accent.  I was quite jealous.  Followed by a two hour lunch with Scott, Kenyon and Rakul.  Later that evening, most of my LDS friends here went to an Institute dance... Scott was coaching.. Rakul was home for the weekend. It was SO depressing studying in my room alone. I decided to fix this problem.  I went up to the Juniper lobby with my Comm 1010 book and started reading. About five minutes into reading, I was passed out... practically drooling all over my reading material.  Eventually.. some girl I don't even know, woke me up and asked me if I was okay.  I decided I should probably stop sleeping in the lobby ALL the time. After nap time, it was time for a jammin' out sesh with Pearl May White.  We sang "Dreams" by The Cranberries with some wicked harmony! Eventually... Pearl..Kelly...Carly and I sat in the second floor of the Juniper lobby... and complained about boys. It was fantastic! We also started singing to every boy that walked into the building. 2:30 am came quickly, so Pearl and I decided to end the night with a movie.  Kenyon came to our room at 3:30 am ish.  We had a great talk until about 7:00 am. We decided to walk to the dining hall for breakfast.  It was closed. So we had cereal in Kenyon's room and watched some hilarious youtube vids.  This is what I love about college... :) Staying up until sunrise... eating cereal.. and laughing until you cry with AMAZING people. Pearl decided that she would use every towel... jacket... and robe that Rakul and I had, to cover up the window so we could sleep with absolutely no sunlight. We woke up at 4:00 pm! So by then, it was almost Saturday night! I went to the lobby of Juniper and noticed that Fransisco, Scott, Amanda and Russell were watching Pokemon.  So I decided to join in the fun! I pretty much cried when I saw Pikachu fighting for his life. Squirtle is my favorite Pokemon.  What's yours?  Afterwords, I had dinner with my new friend Russell/Rustle. I'm not sure how he spells it.. because on facebook it is spelled Rustle.. but I feel like that might be a joke. Anyway, I went to bingo night after a good looking tall man somewhat harassed me into going.  I actually didn't play! Afterwords, I watched about 12 guys play super smash bros in the loft.  It was so hilarious :) Kenyon, Pearl, Kelly, Skankey, Ruth and I watched Coroline. It is such a fantastic film!  Fransisco, Scott and I stayed up until 4:00 am talking about relationships and things.  Rakul came home about 30 mins. ago and brought me unfrosted strawberry pop tarts yay! It was quite a swell weekend :)
